Abhishek Banerjee is an Indian actor and casting director born on May 5, 1985. He started his acting career by working in Delhi theater. Banerjee’s first film appearance was in the 2006 drama film ‘Rang De Basanti’. In the year 2011, he served as a casting director in ‘The Dirty Picture’ as well as in the crime thriller ‘No One Killed Jessica’. He is best known for his role in the 2018 Amar Kaushik’s horror-comedy ‘Stree’, which earned Banerjee a nomination for the Zee Cine Award for Best Actor in a Comic Role in 2019. His role as lead antagonist and dreaded serial killer Vishal Tyagi (Hathoda Tyagi) in the Amazon Prime Video web series ‘Paatal Lok’ was critically acclaimed. Banerjee has worked as a casting director for numerous films including ‘Ok Jaanu’, ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, ‘Secret Superstar‘, ‘Ajji‘, ‘Brij Mohan Amar Rahe’, and ’Knock Out’. He is a notable alumna of Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi.
